If you decide to do business with BACKLOADING AUSTRALIA, you are going to need patience and flexibility, and throw your trust, in them, out the window. Be prepared for last minute changes!
Oh, and if you want to reach them by phone - perseverance is another quality you will need!
I contacted them for a quote, which I accepted. At no stage between 28.7.19 and 24.9.19 did they ever once mention that they would not be doing the job. All the discussions revolved around THEM undertaking the job.
A day before my move, on 25.9.19, they emailed me to say another backloader would be doing the job.
So all the details of the move I had been discussing with them, were now thrown out the window, so to speak!
The new company collected my items a day later than arranged, and was unaware I had paid 2 separate deposits - so I had to pay the second deposit twice - which they later reimbursed me.
Since dealing with BACKLOADING AUSTRALIA my experience with them has been extremely frustrating.
Today I tried to ask for their permission to return an item of clothing to one of the drivers - a windcheater - which he had had left at my new address. The company he worked for, does not provide any forwarding address details. So, all I wanted, was to ask BACKLOADING AUSTRALIA if I could post the windcheater to them to forward onto the driver. When I FINALLY got through on the phone after several unsuccessful attempts, the woman who answered the phone put me through the most ridiculous and unnecessary run-around I have ever been put through. All she had to do was say “sorry we can’t help”, or, “yes,here is our postal address”. But no, she transferred me to a dept that would not pick up the phone, then when I called back she tried to put me on hold; I phoned the number back numerous times and she would not answer. Then when I finally got to her again, she tried to give me the address while I was driving and kept talking over me as I tried to tell her that I needed the address via an email. I finally had to phone back and spoke to a different female who agreed to send me an email - which of course she has not bothered to send!
All they had to do was say yay or nay and if it was to be yay - to direct me to the website!
Extremely poor customer service and very questionable communication.
When I mentioned to the first woman about them changing the backloading company at the last minute, she very haughtily/aggressively advised me they are a backloading brokerage company “which is mentioned all over (their) website”!! I’ve had a quick look on the front page of their website, and it was not evident to me that that is what BACKLOADING AUSTRALIA does!
And I guess I will now have to donate the wind cheater to a charity!
Backloading AU has registered their account, so they will be able to see and respond to your reviews publicly.
Their address is 35 Roma St, Scarborough, QLD, 4020, but removalists usually cover a much larger area.
